From soil baseline to season-by-season plan — we helped this farm build a repeatable system for improving organic matter across all fields, not just pilot plots.
2022–2024 (with ongoing follow-up)
THE CHALLENGE
The farm needed to build stable soil organic matter under dry, warm conditions while keeping yields reliable and inputs predictable. The key issue was not one product, but a whole-system strategy that works year after year.
WHAT WE DID
We established a soil health baseline using targeted soil analyses and translated results into practical field actions. Together with the farm team, we designed an organic matter strategy combining perennial and annual legumes in rotation, tailored cover cropping, and a realistic compost pathway based on available materials and logistics. We mapped where compost brings the biggest return and where rotation/cover crops can do most of the work. The result was a clear plan: what to do, where, when, and how to monitor progress.
OUTCOMES & IMPACT
The farm gained a decision framework for scaling organic matter improvements across fields—not just pilot plots. They now have a repeatable method to prioritise interventions, reduce guesswork, and track soil fertility progress season by season.
