Climate Farming
“Holistic Resource Management for Climate Resilience of Farming” – ClimateFarming for short – is a project that aims to equip a new generation of farmers, advisors and trainers with the skills and knowledge to implement and support climate change adaptation and mitigation measures in agriculture.
Agriculture is at the centre of a number of major environmental and climate challenges. Not only does the current agricultural system contribute to climate change, but increasingly frequent weather extremes such as droughts and storms, potential resource shortages, land degradation, biodiversity loss and related factors pose serious challenges for agriculture itself.
The project started in October 2022 and will last until March 2025.
The project is developing consultation and training materials focused on the future of climate change mitigation and adaptation. Its innovative approach combining regenerative agriculture and adaptive management methods will offer practical solutions and strategic guidance for transforming agricultural farming methods and ecosystems to make agriculture more resilient and sustainable. The project also contributes to more robust food production, healthier ecosystems (biodiversity) and the fight against the climate crisis.
